DIY-ACCEL Final Event

On December 12, 2018, the Institute of Bio-Economy and Agri-Technology of CERTH carried out the final event of the DIY-ACCEL European Project “Piloting of the Danube and Ionian Youth Entrepreneurship Acceleration” at the “Aeolos” Hall of CERTH in Thessaloniki. The project is being implemented within the framework of the European Union Danube Strategic Project Fund DSPF Program and aims to strengthen youth entrepreneurship.

The event was attended by representatives of the three partners involved in the project, the Bulgarian Business Support Center for SMEs in Ruse (BSC-SME Ruse), by Serbia the Regional Development Agency of Eastern Serbia (RARIS) and by Greece the Institute of Bio-Economy and Agri-Technology of CERTH (CERTH / IBO). The partners presented the most important achievements of the project, including the Accelerator Base and the self-diagnosis tool for young entrepreneurs (https://accel.smebg.net/self-assessment/)

During the event, the business ideas of young people aged 15-24, representing the target group of the project, were presented. In addition, Accelerators for start-ups, such as the OK!Thess accelerator and the Industry Disruptors accelerator, responded to the organizers’ invitation. Event participants also had the opportunity to attend the launch of start-up companies (AidPlex, SIBA) and to discover the way a business follows from conception to realization.

Mrs Sophie Deuer, EuroVienna,  representing the Managing Authority, was attended the event. the project manager by the Managing Authority.

The DIY-ACCEL project is being implemented under the DSPF Danube Strategic Project Fund, with resources from the European Commission and the city of Vienna. It started in January 2018 and ends on 31.12.2018. The Scientific Coordinator of the CERTH / IBO project is Ass. Professor Thomas Bartzanas.
