Dr. Thomas Alexandridis is an agronomist with a specialization in remote sensing and geoinformatics. His research interests include environmental, agricultural and water resources monitoring and modelling using Earth observation, and spatial analysis of geographic data in GIS. He has extensive experience in mapping vegetation and water parameters at wide scales (national and regional) using low resolution satellite images in several European countries, Brazil, Pakistan and Mozambique, as well as local scales with very high resolution satellite images, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and in-situ measurements. He has authored and co-authored more than 80 journal and conference papers, and has participated in more than 25 research projects funded by the EU, European Space Agency, and various national sources, in several of them as Principal Investigator.
