Lefteris Benos is a Postdoctoral Researcher in iBO/CERTH. He has a B.Sc. in Physics as well as a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. From 2010 to 2018 he was a member of the “National program of controlled thermonuclear fusion”. He has expertise in CFD modelling of free surface MHD flows and Heat Transfer of liquid metals and nanofluids for fusion applications and a strong background on Fluid Mechanics, Wetting Phenomena, Plasma Physics and Finite Element Analysis. At the moment, he is interested in the field of Biomechanics and Bioengineering with emphasis on developing advanced personalized, multi-scale computer models preventing osteoarthritis as well as nanoparticle direct drug-delivery for optimal tumor targeting. Finally, he is an author of more than 20 scientific publications in international journals and conference proceedings.
